Research Abstract

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common ovulatory disorder in young women. We examined to clarify the pathogenesis of PCOS by using an in vitro mouse preantral follicle culture system. TNF-alpha is an aipocytokine, which raise insulin resistance. TNF-alpha directly inhibited follicular development. On the other hand, insulin-sensitizing drugs restored the TNF-alpha-mediated inhibition of follicular development.
