Research Abstract |
The aim of this study was to investigate the involvement of scrA gene deeply related to the acidogenic activity in cariogenic bacterium in the initial adhesion and glucan synthesis by Streptococcus mutans. ELISA assay revealed that scrA gene had an effect on the initial adhesion. The measurement of glucan demonstrated that scrA gene involved in the synthesis of glucan, a component of biofilm.
