Research Abstract |
Chronic muscle disuse - produced by the condition of physical inactivity induced insulin resistance in human skeletal muscle. I studied whether moderate-intensity exercise and heat stimulation that led to a significant amplification in phosphorylation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), prevented insulin resistance that induced in postural muscle by hindlimb immobilization. As a result, our study suggested that it was necessary to activate AMPK to a sufficiently level for preventing inactivity-induced insulin resistance.
