Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements

北陸地方の冬季雷は大電流などの特徴があるだけでなく、高エネルギーガンマ線の放出など未解明の点が多く、社会的にも学術的にも重要な課題への取り組みである。この問題に電磁気計測、気象観測および数値シミュレーションによる研究が計画されており、高エネルギー物理学と気象学の融合という点でも重要な課題である。
