南極における中間消費者に位置づけられるノトテニア科魚類の生態と海洋物理環境との関係を明らかにする研究である。海氷の減少が報じられる中、本研究でのテレメトリー、環境DNA、飼育による行動解析などのデータは、この海域における環境が生物に与える影響や生物間の食物連鎖の基礎知見に貴重である。
