Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements

近年注目されているNAMsを水棲哺乳類に開発・適用する点は独自性が高く、研究グループの実績から見ても大きな研究展開が期待できる。長年の水棲哺乳類研究を基盤として、愛媛大学に保存されている生物環境資料バンクを有効活用する独創的な計画であると評価できる。水棲哺乳類の受容体や細胞の毒性評価がどこまで種差を反映するのか、あるいはどこまでの生物に一般化できるのかといった、学術的意義のある成果が期待される。
