平均計算量におけるNP完全性の理論は、より現実的な設定での計算困難性の理論としての有用性が高いにもかかわらず、いまだ明確な結果が得られていない。本研究で目指す平均計算量版の計算困難性の理論は、基礎理論としての有用性に加え、新たな分野の展開が期待できる。また、優れた業績をもつ研究者で構成されていることから成果も期待できる。
