物理的摂動を用いる巨視スケールにおよぶ構造異方性の制御と特異物性発現

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本プロジェクトでは、生体内の組織化に学び、「物理的摂動の存在下での組織構造の形成」に焦点をあて、分子スケールからナノ・メゾスケールを超え、巨視スケールにいたる高度に制御された階層的異方構造からなるソフトマテリアルを設計するとともに、その異方性に由来する格別な物性・機能の開拓を目指す。具体的には、(1)『高速電場応答強誘電性カラムナー液晶』の開拓とメモリー素子としての初の実験的検証、(2)『イオン性無機ナノシート間の二次元静電反発』によるアクアマテリアルの異方的力学特性、(3)グラフェン高濃度分散系を用いる『構造異方的ソフトナノカーボン』の創製と物性開拓、の3つを遂行する。
最終年度であった平成29年度の繰り越し分として行った平成30年度では、(3)の課題を検討している最中発見された、グラフェンの分散のために設計されたイミダゾリウムのオリゴマーが破格に高いキャパシタンスを有するという発見に基づく研究を進めた。前年度までに見いだされていたのは、電極電位が負の場合にキャパシタンスが向上するというものであった。これはオリゴマー化しているイミダゾリウムがカチオン性であるため、その反対の極性の電極上に吸着し精緻な電気二重層を形成するためであると考えられた。この結果に基づきアニオンをオリゴマーかしたものや、粘度を押さえるために環状にオリゴマー化した分子を設計・合成した。その結果、電極電位が正の場合にもキャパシタンスが向上するという分子や、どちらの電位でもキャパシタンスが向上する分子を見いだすことができた。
