Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究課題の中心となるホログラフィ専用計算ボードにホログラム計算回路を実装し、稼働させることに成功した。独自に開発したホログラフィ専用計算ボードには、計算回路を実装する大規模FPGAチップが7個搭載されている。1チップあたりホログラム計算回路を160ユニット実装し、1ボードで1,120並列（160×7）の計算を実現した。動作周波数は250MHzで、1ボードでPCの計算速度を上回った。
回路実装を進めていく中で、三角関数をテーブル参照するためのメモリが不足した。そこで、三角関数を簡単な論理回路に置き換える研究に着手し、開発に成功した。今後、この回路をFPGAに実装して効果を検証する予定である。
並行して進めている3次元映像、3次元計測のアルゴリズムに関する研究も着実に成果を上げており、10編を超える査読付論文を公表した。

Reason

本研究課題の中心であるホログラフィ専用計算機HORN-8の動作確認ができ、順調に進展している。また、計算システムをベースとした3次元映像及び3次元計測のアルゴリズムも活発に展開できており、光学のトップジャーナル等に掲載されている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

3次元映像分野として、計算機合成ホログラムを高速に生成するホログラフィ専用計算機HORN-8をチューニングして完成させ、評価を行う。その際、ハードウェア向けに独自に開発した三角関数回路を実装し、効果を検証する。3次元計測分野においても、HORN-8ボードへのアルゴリズムの実装を試みる。また、専用計算機の開発と並行して、関連するアルゴリズムの研究を展開する。
