Outline of Final Research Achievements

The aim of this archaeological study is to clarify routes of the transmission of iron smelting technique from the Near and Middle East to the eastwards and epochal change in the transmission. It became clear that iron in the Bronze Age represented by Hittite was transmitted to Central Asia via the Caucasus area in around B.C. 12th century. This is called the 1st wave of technological spread of iron. The 2nd wave indicates the eastwards tranmission from the northern coastal area of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, where famous Scythian flourished. The oldest technique of iron smelting in the East Asia was established on the first wave and 2nd wave didn't reach there.
It could be assumed now that spread of ironmaking technology in the Northern Eurasia was caused by lifestyle of the nomadic people who purchases iron mine.
