Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、新規POPsおよびPOPs代替物質の環境汚染源・不適切管理地域として懸念されるアジア新興・途上国を対象に、汚染実態、環境動態、生物蓄積性、そして経年変動に関する基礎的データを集積し、環境改善や対策技術構築のための科学的根拠を提示することを目的とする。平成26年度は、昨年度に引き続き9月にインド、そして1月にインドネシアで現地調査を実施した。廃棄物集積場とe-waste処理施設の継続調査に加え、POPs関連物質の水圏生態系における動態を明らかにするため、河川や湖沼から環境水、底質、魚類を収集した。また本年度は、昨年度構築した分析法を母乳試料に適用し、ヒト曝露の実態を明らかにした。ベトナムやインドネシアで収集した母乳の臭素系難燃剤の濃度は日本に比べ相対的に高く、これらアジア途上国での汚染が進行していると考えられた。インドネシアの母乳調査からは、近年臭素系難燃剤の代替として使用量が増加しているリン酸エステル系難燃剤の検出も明らかとなった。
さらに、ベトナムのe-wasteやELV解体処理場で採取したダスト試料からPBDEsが高濃度に検出されただけでなく、臭素化・塩素化ダイオキシン類の汚染も明らかとなり、作業者への曝露および健康影響が危惧された。DR-CALUXアッセイを用いてダイオキシン様活性を評価したところ、e-wasteとELV処理場のダスト試料中のダイオキシン様活性は同レベルであり、都市対照地域よりも有意に高い値を示した。また、e-wasteとELV解体処理場のダスト試料から検出されたダイオキシン様活性は、既報の日本の一般家庭およびオフィスの室内ダストや米国の一般家庭の室内ダストと比較しても、概して高い傾向が認められた。従って、e-waste やELVの解体処理活動によるダイオキシン様活性物質の環境負荷とヒト曝露が示唆された。

Reason

平成26年度は、廃棄物集積場およびe-waste処理施設の継続調査と昨年度不足していた関連試料の追加収集ができた。また、水圏生態系における動態解析のため、新たに河川や湖沼から採取した環境水、底質、魚類を入手することができた。昨年度構築した母乳の分析法を適用し、POPs関連物質によるヒト曝露の実態を明らかにした結果、日本と比べアジア途上国の母乳中レベルは相対的に高いことが判明し、乳児におけるリスク評価の観点からも貴重なデータを得た。さらに汚染源解析として、e-wasteやELV解体処理場のダストを分析したところ、これらの処理場が重要なPOPs関連物質の発生・集積源となっている可能性を示した。今後、一部分析法を改良し、水圏生態系に関連した試料へ適用することで、POPs関連物質の地理的分布、生物蓄積性、そして経年変化を明らかにできると考えている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

引き続きアジア途上国研究者との共同研究を通して、現地ミーティングおよび調査を実施し、新規POPsおよびPOPs代替物質の環境動態、生物蓄積性、リスク評価、そして経年変化に関するデータ集積・解析を進める。とくに、BFRsの代替物質として使用量の増大が予想されているPFRsについて、様々な環境・生物試料に適用可能な分析法を構築し、環境汚染やヒト曝露の実態を解明する。
1．現地調査（田辺・国末・高橋・磯部）：一昨年および昨年度に実施したベトナムとインドの現地調査で得られた結果を基に、研究を深化させるため新たな調査を実施する。
2．POPs（BFRs）代替物質の分析法開発（田辺・国末）：リン酸エステル系難燃剤(PFRs)であるtritolyl phosphate (o-, m-, p-tricresyl phosphate) (TCP), triethyl phosphate (TEP), tris(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (TEHP), tris(2-butoxyethyl) phosphate (TBEP), triphenyl phosphate (TPhP), tri-n-butyl phosphate (TnBP), tripropyl phosphate (TPrP), 2-ethylhexyl diphenyl phosphate (EHDPP), tripentyl phosphate (TPeP)について、水圏生態系適用型の分析法を構築する。
3．時空間トレンドの解析とヒト曝露の評価（田辺・国末・高橋）：E-wasteリサイクル施設や廃棄物投棄場で収集した試料を化学分析し、作業者に対するBFRsおよびPFRsの曝露実態と起源の解明、そしてリスクの評価をおこなう。また、水域への流入の実態を評価するため、湖沼や河川で採取した環境試料と水生生物も分析し、これら物質の挙動と蓄積性を解明する。さらに、アジア沿岸で死亡漂着した小型鯨類の組織試料がes-BANKに経年的に保存されているため、これらの試料を用いて新規POPsおよびPOPs代替物質の濃縮性と経年的な濃度レベルの変化を解析する。
