Outline of Annual Research Achievements

近年、スマートフォンやタブレット端末などのモバイル技術や、RFID、センサーネットワーク等のユビキタス技術を教育や学習の支援に用いたユビキタス・モバイル学習環境の研究が盛んに行われている。申請者らは、本研究分野において、図1に示すように語学学習を対象に、数多くの論文[研究業績リストを参照]を発表しており、8件の論文賞や15件の基調講演を行ってきた。この研究領域においては、語学学習や数学、科学教育などの分野では、研究成果が実際に利用されつつあるが、真に日常生活の至る所で生じる学習をどのように記録して、どのように利用して学習を支援するか?という基本的な問題がまだ残っている。
一方、映像記憶装置の低価格化や情報圧縮技術の進歩により、ビデオ映像等を用いて日常生活での出来事を一元的に記憶していくライフログが可能となってきた。ライフログの代表的なプロジェクトとしては、Microsoft研究所が推進しているMyLifeBitsがある。これは、携帯型カメラを用いて日常生活を記録したり、パソコンを使用する際に行われる全ての操作・動作を記録して、後から追跡することを可能にするものである。しかしながら、このような情報を学習・教育に利用する試みは、まだ研究されていない。
本研究では、ユビキタス技術・ライフログ技術を用いて、日常生活での学習体験を電子的に記録し、他の学習者と共有することで、学習体験記録データの分析を行い、学習や教育を支援する、ユビキタス学習環境を研究開発する。また、膨大なライフログデータから、効果的な学習パターンや、誤りのパターンを抽出する、学習体験マイニング手法を提案する。これらの情報により、学習者の日常生活の中で、適切な時に、適切な場所で、適切な学習情報を提供する。また、長期にわたる実証実験を行い、システムの有効性を検証する。

Reason

本研究は、研究を始めて、3年目である。2年目で実施した評価結果をもとに、開発したシステムの改良を行い、三次システムの開発を行った。また、そのシステムを用いて、評価実験を行った。
平成27年度は、以下の研究を行った。
(1)ラーニングログの機能要件の精査、及び情報収集・分析(緒方、学生)(2)ラーニングログの実践的学習への導入検討・交渉(緒方、学生)(3)携帯情報端末の性能を考慮したビデオ教材の推薦・配信システムの設計(緒方、学生)(4)ラーニングログ内のデータの質の評価システムの設計(緒方、学生)(5)タンジブルデバイスを用いた実世界Edutainment型学習システムの実装(緒方、学生)(6)ラーニングログの利用履歴の分析による、学習者モデル、教授モデルの構築(緒方、学生)(7)データマイニング手法を用いたラーニングログの推薦機能の構築(緒方、学生)(8)情報の可視化によるラーニングログの検索支援機能の構築(緒方、学生)(9)ラーニングログを用いたリフレクションによる学習支援システムの設計と実装(緒方、学生 (10)友達、家族、一般公開など、情報共有レベルの設定方法の実装(緒方、学生(11)SNS(Social Networking Service)やBlogなどのコミュニティ支援機能の実装(緒方、学生 (12)全ての機能の統合(緒方、学生) (13)従来研究のユビキタス協調学習システムや教材との統合(緒方、学生)(14)第三次プロトタイプシステムの完成と調整 (15)第三次評価の実施

今後は、平成27年度の研究成果を踏まえて、以下の研究を行う予定である。
(1)ラーニングログの実践と中長期的評価(緒方)
(2)最終評価とシステム公開(緒方)
(3)研究のまとめと最終報告(緒方)

Causes of Carryover

平成27年度の予定していた、海外で開催される国際会議に参加できなかったために、研究費を次年度に繰り越す予定である。ただし、研究計画に大幅な変更はない。

次年度への繰越金は、平成28年度に、海外で開催される国際会議などで研究成果の発表を行うために、利用する予定である。
