Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We conducted a series of fieldwork in three communities - Noda Village, Iwate Prefecture, Minamisanriku Town and Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, devastatingly damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and provided a disaster-recovery education program based on our "Community Recovery Platform". We focused on various local organizations/associations including non-profit organizations, schools, and religious institutions in each community and conducted long-term collaborative practices with local residents related to those organizations. While these practices changed into action research, we appointed Noda Village as our principal area for the platform. Finally, we focused on a local association preparing for community FM radio station as our Community Recovery Platform, and implemented a trial educational program for community recovery collaborated with local schools.
