Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、アルカリ原子とアルカリ土類原子Srの同時量子縮退実現を目指すため、ハイブリッド光トラップを行うことや、その後の冷却分子研究について理論面からも研究を行うことを目的としている。
689nmのレーザー冷却のために、レーザーの周波数安定化の改善を行った。しかし、真空についての不具合もあり、現在改善中である。
Sr用のレーザー光の周波数安定化に必要なガルバノセルについて、準安定状態でFM分光を行った。バッファガス圧力と気体種類や混合比を調節することで、JILAでは見れなかった3P0-3S1, 3P1-3S1のホローカソードランプ分光に初めて成功した。これらにより、497 nmのリポンプ遷移から逸脱した場合でも、リポンプのサイクルに戻すことができる。準安定状態からのリポンプ遷移の直接的な周波数安定化を行うことができる。
また、応用である電子EDM探索についても、アルカリ原子とアルカリ土類原子Srから成るFrSr分子について発表し、その基礎となるFrについて学会発表や論文発表を行った。Frについては、インドのSahoo先生との国際共同研究により、光トラップ中でのアナポールモーメントの測定方法について研究を発展させ、磁場揺らぎの影響をキャンセルする方法について、論文発表を行った。また、標準模型を超える新物理への感度についても評価し、論文発表を行った。こららは、光トラップの元となる光シフトの応用例であり、原子で光シフトの精密分光を行うことで、TeVスケールの物理が探索できることを示したことは、基礎物理学上、意義は極めて大きい。
分担者の梶田氏は、窒素分子イオン、酸素分子イオンの振動回転遷移周波数の到達可能な精度について解析し論文にまとめた。両者はこれまでの原子時計を上回る確度を得る可能性がある。その一方で、微小原子時計の周波数安定度を与えるための条件を解析し、論文にまとめた。
