Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度は前年度に引き続きテチス海縁辺部オフィオライトの地質調査及び試料採取を実施した．9月にイギリスの研究協力者とともにキプロスのTroodosオフィオライト，10月にオランダの研究協力者とともにトルコのMersin, Kosanti-Karasanti, Sarikaraman等のオフィオライトの調査を実施，火山岩，深成岩，マントルかんらん岩について試料採取を行った．試料採取は，海洋プレート沈み込み開始時から島弧成長期の火成活動の変遷を時間軸を入れて解明できるように計画，実施した．これら採取試料について化学組成分析、同位体組成分析、U-Pb法による精密年代測定、マントルかんらん岩の鉱物組成分析、変形様式の解析を実施した。同時に昨年度までに採取したギリシャ及びイランのオフィオライト層序試料についても分析を継続した．火山岩試料の分析により，一つのオフィオライト層序中にマグマ起源物質が顕著に異なる複数のマグマ活動が記録されていることが確認できた．さらにオマーンオフィオライトの島弧火成活動終息後，500万年ほどして活動したアルカリ玄武岩のV3溶岩流について，アセノスフェアの減圧融解で説明できることが示された。
一方昨年度実施した伊豆小笠原マリアナ前弧域での調査航海で採取された試料の記載、化学分析も継続、伊豆北部前弧域及びマリアナ北部前弧域のマントル地殻層序が初めて明らかになってきた．これらはプレート沈み込み開始期のフィリピン海テクトニクス復元に強力な制約を与える成果である。
さらに今年度は７月にしんかい6500による潜航調査を九州パラオ海嶺の３箇所で実施、古伊豆小笠原弧の基盤及び島弧最初期の噴出物の層序観察及び試料採取を試みた．特筆すべき成果は，九州パラオ海嶺ー大東海嶺会合部で深成岩類の大露頭を発見，系統的な試料採取に成功したことである．

Current Status of Research Progress

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.

Reason

東日本大震災以降の研究用原子炉の停止がいまだに継続しているため，本研究の柱の一つであるArAr年代測定が実施できず研究の進捗に遅れが見られた．関連する予算の執行もできないため，翌年度への繰り越しを認めていただいた．これ以外の項目については，概ね予定通り進捗している．

Strategy for Future Research Activity

ArAr年代測定以外の項目は順調に進捗しているので，このまま分析，解析を継続，最終年度のとりまとめにつなげていく．一方ArAr年代測定に関しては，来年度も日本国内の原子炉が使用できない可能性を踏まえ，2つの方策を検討する．すなわち，１）国外のラボでの分析実施，２）国外原子炉で試料の中性子照射を実施，自前のラボで測定する，の２案である．このうち１）について実施，発生した費用を繰り越し予算で支出した．28年度は２）についても実施していく予定である．

Causes of Carryover

ArAr年代測定に関して研究用原子炉の稼働が実現されず，測定が行えなかった．そのため消耗品購入及び照射に係る費用が発生しなかったため，次年度使用額が発生した．

Expenditure Plan for Carryover Budget

28年度は27年度予定していた分析についても行う予定であり、その分必要な消耗品購入に充当する予定である。
