Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、ナノゲル(ミクロゲル)、ナノエマルション、タンパク質のような生体高分子、ハードナノ粒子が緩く凝集したナノ粒子などのソフトナノコロイドの超高度分離操作の最適設計を実現するため、ソフトナノコロイドの特性評価法を確立し、それに基づき複雑な分離メカニズムを解明して、最適な分離手法、装置や操作の設計のための指針を得ることを目的とする。昨年度に引き続いて、粒子充填層の圧縮透過特性を推算する手法について検討を行った。圧縮透過特性が求まると、膜濾過における濾過ケークのみならず、圧搾における圧縮ケーク、沈降や遠心分離における沈積層、浮上分離におけるクリーミング層の動的挙動など、広範な固液分離操作における様々な特性を一挙に把握できるものと期待される。O/Wエマルションの分離について、ケーク濾過と濃厚エマルションの遠心浮上との両者の現象にアナロジーが成立することに着目し、分析用遠心機を用いた遠心浮上挙動の観測結果に基づき、油滴堆積層の圧縮透過特性を求め、濾過挙動の推算に適用できることを示した。抵抗の大きな分離膜を用いたシングル定圧濾過と圧力ステップアップ状圧搾を組み合わせた新規試験法を開発し、一度の試験で得られるデータから粒子堆積層の圧縮透過特性を求め、様々な圧搾操作における脱液挙動の推算が可能となることを明らかにした。また、濾過圧の急変に伴うナノコロイドの膜濾過を検討し、圧縮圧の急変に伴うケーク構造の変化速度と最終状態の両者をパラメータに持つ濾過速度式により、膜透過流束の過渡特性を精度よくモデル化することができた。なお、本研究で得られたソフトナノコロイドの超高度分離に関する様々な成果については、論文発表を行うとともに、国内のみならず国際学会でも研究発表を行い、情報発信に努めた。
