Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、発熱棒の振動現象と壁面との相互作用を明らかにすることを目的とし、プール沸騰体系において発熱棒の近傍にステンレス板の壁を設置し、サブクール状態での核沸騰による発熱棒表面での気泡の挙動と振動特性を調べる実験を行った。壁は、発熱棒の片側だけに設置する「1枚壁」、発熱棒を2枚の壁で挟む「平行壁」、発熱棒の半面を壁で囲う「L字壁」の3種類の配置とした。
気泡挙動の観察により、壁配置の種類に依らず、発熱棒と壁とのギャップが狭い場合には、気泡の合一・成長が促進され、直径5mmを超えるような大気泡が発生することが確認された。また、発熱棒に対する壁の配置(発熱棒との位置関係を変化)によって、サブクール度を変化させた際の気泡の挙動や大気泡発生頻度に違いが生まれることがわかった。
振動加速度の測定実験によって、サブクール度が小さい場合には、大気泡の発生・離脱によって大きな振動が励起されることが確認された。また、サブクール度を大きくしていくと、加速度RMS値は極小値をとり、その後は気泡の凝縮による圧力変動によって振動が励起され、その振動は1000-3000Hzの高周波であることが示唆された。また、壁の配置による気泡挙動の違いによって、加速度RMS値が極小値をとるサブクール度が変わることが確認された。
円柱発熱棒の沸騰励起振動は、実際の原子炉における燃料棒でも起こる可能性のある現象であり、本実験では原子炉内の燃料棒の挙動を解明するための基礎的な研究として壁面を設置した体系での実験を実施した。今後は、壁面を設置した体系での実験をサブクール度や壁の配置などをさらに変化させて実験を行うことによって、発熱棒が壁面から受ける効果をさらに詳細に評価するとともに、原子炉内により近い体系である管群体系での実験がの必要であると考えられる。
