我々は局所進行子宮頸癌を対象として、放射線治療前の患者血清からアポリポ蛋白C-II (ApoC-II)を抽出し、ApoC-IIが予後予測因子として有用であることを特定し（平成19年度～平成21年度基盤研究（B）・19390326）、論文に発表した（Yoko Harima et al. Apolipoprotein C-II could be a potential serum biomarker as a prognostic factor of locally advanced cervical cancer after chemoradiotherapy. Int. J. Radiat. Oncol. Biol. Phys., 87 : 1155-1161, 2013.)。日本放射線腫瘍学研究機構(JROSG)婦人科腫瘍グループ参加13施設と連携して前向き研究を開始した（平成22年度～平成24年度基盤研究（B）・22390237、平成25年～平成28年度基盤研究（B）・225293266）。平成26年9月30日に148症例の集積を完了し、平成28年11月27日第29回日本放射線腫瘍学において、途中経過を報告した。すなわち、治療前の血清中ApoC-IIが25.8μg/mLより低い値の症例は高い症例よりも骨盤内無増悪生存期間が有意に不良であった(P=.019)。今回の前向き多施設共同研究の結果は、我々がPilot studyとして血清中ApoC-IIをTOF-MOSで測定し、ApoC-II低値が予後不良を予測する可能性があるとした上記の論文の結果を臨床研究で証明した。現在引き続き経過観察中である。この結果は英語論文に投稿予定である。
