当該年度は、感冒薬に関連して発症し重篤な眼合併症を伴う SJS患者を対象に、PTGER3遺伝子多型の解析を行った。その結果、解析したPTGER3遺伝子18 SNPsのうち、p < 0.05 の関連を認めた遺伝子多型は、12 SNPsであった。また、最も強い関連を示したのは、rs1327464であり、アレル頻度においてp<10-9、オッズ比0.2の強い関連を示し た。つまり、PTGER3遺伝子多型とSJSとの関連は、原因薬を感冒薬に絞ることで強くなった。このことは、PTGER3遺伝子のタンパクであるEP3 受容体がPGE2の受容体の一つであることから、感冒薬にPGE2抑制作用があることと関係している可能性が強く示唆される。さらに、SJSと有意な関連が認められたEP3遺伝子7SNPsとHLA-A*02:06を組み合わせた場合のオッズ比ならびにp値を解析した。その結果、EP3遺伝子7SNPsとHLA-A*02:06の組み合わせのうち、EP3遺伝子の1SNPとHLA-A*02:06の組み合わせが強い関連を示した(OR = 10.8, p = 2.56 x 10-7)。これは、EP3SNP単独(OR=4.5, p=1.90 x 10-8)やHLA-A*02:06単独(OR=5.5, p=1.39 ×10-11)よりも大きなオッズ比を示した。つづいて、HLA-A*02:06とTLR3遺伝子多型間の相互作用について検討した。その結果、遺伝子間相互作用を解析したTLR3遺伝子多型６種のうち、HLA-A*02:06と相加効果以上の強い相互作用を示したのは、s3775296, rs5743312, rs3775290の3 SNPsであった（s3775296TT+ HLA-A*02:06; p=3.69×10-5, ｵｯｽﾞ比37.6, rs5743312TT+ HLA-A*02:06; p=3.84×10-5, ｵｯｽﾞ比37.5, s3775290AA+ HLA-A*02:06; p=1.68×10-5, ｵｯｽﾞ比9.89）。重篤な感冒薬関連SJS発症には、複数の遺伝子間相互作用が大きく関与している可能性がある。
