| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In cooperation with Waseda University, University of the Sacred Heart, Sophia University and National College (Kathmandu), the following research activities were carried out in 2017:
(1)Symposium centered around research results from 2016, as a way to identify research for 2017.(2)Three presentations at an international conference, and two paper publications.(3)Development of a questionnaire and data collection focusing on waste management and potential for recycling.(4)Development of a questionnaire and data collection on urban transportation systems. (5)Development of a questionnaire and data collection on physical disabilities and support systems. (6)Development and implementation of a school program focused on sustainable education and active learning. (7)Two lecture-presentations by Nepali government officials on policies connected to waste collection and recycle system in urban Nepal.(8)One lecture and discussion session by a government official on transportation policy and development. (9)Two lectures and site observations conducted by NGOs on transportation systems and waste management for urban Nepal. (10)Site visit to a factory with a focus on environmental management.
