Outline of Annual Research Achievements

人道近接融合モデルの構築のため、学融合的検討を推進した。生物学的・畜産学的手法としては、機能形態学と行動生態学による検討を進めた。東南アジア現地調査の成果が大きく、とりわけニワトリを中心とする家禽のデータ収集が効果的に進渉した。ニワトリに関しては、原種セキショクヤケイの現地におけるインベントリーづくりが高度に成功し、インドシナ地域の原種集団の多大な骨計測および羽毛による外貌データ収集が可能となった。ベトナム、ラオス、インドネシアのセキショクヤケイの基礎的なデータが整ったため、家禽化・品種形成に伴う生物学的、特に機能形態学的なアイデンティティを確立することができる状況に至っている。ベトナムの在来家禽については、ドンタオやガートレなどについて、詳細な生物学的データを蓄積しつつある。頭骨の研究としては、ニワトリおよび各地域のセキショクヤケイ野生集団の比較三次元形態学を推進できるに至っている。一方、行動生態学的にはニワトリの放飼および飼い馴らしについての知見をインドシナ各国農村部で得ている。目視と聴き取りに加え、生態観察による定量的データ化を推進する準備が可能となった。またニワトリとウズラの発生・成長パターンの比較を取り入れ、家畜化に共通する普遍的因子を探る試みを行った。人文社会科学的には、ベトナムとバングラデシュにおけるブタの飼育現場から貴重なデータを得ることができ、ブタの早期の品種創出と家畜化の様相を検証することができた。バングラデシュではヤギ集団の飼育状況を確認し、品種維持の現状を確認できた。動物考古学の観点から、ヨルダンの遺跡出土骨、琉球諸島のイノシシのサイズ変異の検討を進めることができた。また、家畜化に関連し、人に近接する野生集団の動静をモデルに取り入れるために、キリン、シマウマ、大型カンガルー類を用いて、形態の易変異性の確認を試みた。

Reason

本年度は、多分野のそれぞれで研究データからの理論化が推進できたのが実績である。まだ小規模ではあるが、理論のいくつかを発表し、批判を受けつつある。アジア諸国での、セキショクヤケイ・ニワトリ、イノシシ・ブタを中心に人間社会と家畜・野生原種との関連を網羅的に認識することに大きな成功を収めたと判断される。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

データ相互の論理的連結に力を入れたいと企図する。最終的に本研究は、学融合的な総合議論により、人動近接融合モデルを構築しなくてはならず、そのためには現在までに揃ってきている個別データの解析を早期に発表し、批評を受けたうえで、各データの論理的結合と総合化を試みる必要がある。東南アジアの家禽、ブタ、西アジアの動物考古学、その既存理論との比較など、発表を継続し、議論の水準を高めたいと考えている。とくにアジアの農村における人間と動物の生態学的関係を重視したデータ収集に力を入れることが、高度なモデル構築を可能ならしめると考える。

平成26年10月、当初予想に反して、ニワトリ集団間の形態学的変異がきわめて小さいことが認識され、研究遂行上この現象の本質を見極める必要に迫られた。そこで、動物遺残体の収集、処理、解析に用いる消耗品、現地調査旅費、資料収集旅費、研究補助謝金の執行を平成27年4月以降6月まで3か月延長し、研究方式を考慮しつつ高水準な結果を得ることを計画、実施した。
