Outline of Final Research Achievements

We identified issues related to pavement markings and optional signs along bicycle paths and identified points to keep in mind for resolving these issues.　From a Web survey, guideline surveys, and field surveys, we comprehensively clarified issues related to pavement markings and optional signs along bicycle paths from the viewpoint of their installation and representation method, and various local initiatives. We then determined that it is necessary to create guidelines specific to each locality and identified seven requirements for creating useful guidelines.
