Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Expression of the L-typed fatty acid binding protein (L-FABP) was confirmed in feline kidney tissue, especially within renal tubular cells, as well as human. In feline kidney tissue samples, expression of L-FABP was not significantly related to the kidney function. In kidney ischemia/reperfusion injury and acute kidney rejection models, L-FABP was appeared in tubular cavities before the increase of serum creatinine. L-FABP may play a role as a biomarker for predicting impairment of renal function rather than for expressing kidney damages.
