Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research analysed the strategic deployment and complicated functions of visual representation and oral compositions in the course of hierophany in religious cultures. We found that visual representations, that is, objects such as statues and language (prayers, incantations) play an important role not only as media vehicles between divinity and people, but also as a function of producing and expanding the sacred dimension.
