Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study is intended to elucidate the actual condition of carving lacquers produced in Japan which research has not been conducted until now. During the period of this study, I researched the Japanese carving lacquers of the Edo period, focusing on Tsuishu Yozei, Tamakaji Zokoku and Kairakuen nuri. To understand the features, such as those of the techniques and patterns , and strove to grasp the differences between the Chinese carving lacquers.Through this research , it becomes possible to obtain useful clues, to look for the Japanese carving lacquers that buried in among the Chinese carving lacquers.
