Outline of Final Research Achievements

Two kinds of English word- and chunk-lists with contrasting phoneme sequences concerning erroneously perceived phoneme sequences were made based on error analysis of dictation. Two groups of students practiced with the words and chunks.
The words were selected in terms of number of neighbors and phonotactic probability to improve word recognition, and the effects of the two lists were compared. The results were analyzed to find an interaction, but it cannot clearly be said that the differences in the improvement in word recognition are caused by the differences in the words used for the practice.
