Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In FY2015, I have published a working paper written in FY2013 in "Korea and the World Economy" in August 2015. The model is to eliminate the effects of markup, returns to scale, and capital utilization from the Solow residual to derive an alternative measure for productivity for the Japanese manufacturing industry. I have also published a working paper written in FY2014 in "Contemporary Economic Policy," which first published online in October 2015 and forthcoming in the journal in 2016. This paper extended the model developed in FY2014 further to include both embodied and disembodied technical progress and applied it to estimate factor determinants of productivity growth for the Japanese manufacturing industry. This is the third working paper that I published in international academic journals based on JSPS research fund. Two of them are published in SSCI-indexed journals. By using firm-level data obtained from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), I have also drafted out a working paper that investigates factor determinants of productivity growth after decomposing the growth into four components of technical progress, technical efficiency change, scale efficiency change, and allocative efficiency change. I have been to five academic meetings to disseminate my working papers that estimate and identify factor determinants of productivity growth for the Japanese manufacturing industry.
