Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Relations among policy, academia and media reporting on the Ainu people have been examined, focusing on recent movements. Specific findings and outcomes obtained in the research include: (1) setting analytical framework and extracting structural characteristics of industry-government-academia network from late 2000s; (2) a chronology of anthropological research and its development to plan an institution to gather Ainu bones; and (3) trends in Hokkaido Shimbun’s articles on the Ainu and their relations with government policy.
