Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study has demonstrated that many Japanese learners of English have difficulty understanding different words and phrases used to refer to the same referents. Based on an analysis of the different words and phrases used to refer to the same referents in their textbooks and other reading materials, the study has also produced a material for teaching and learning different words and phrases used to refer to the same referents, from Grades 7 to 12, with the aim of helping learners develop their ability to understand texts better.
