超短パルス軟X線プローブによるフェムト秒レーザーアブレーション初期過程の解明

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

高速・微細現象であるため従来計測が困難であったフェムト秒レーザーアブレーションの初期過程を「フェムト秒レーザーポンプ・軟X線レーザープローブ装置」を改良することで詳細計測を行った。特に、照射強度がアブレーション閾値強度近傍においてのみ生じる特異的な現象を明らかにした。この場合、噴出物は、膨張する固体もしくは液体の表面(Ablation front)から薄膜状の構造体(Expansion front)として放出される。特に金をサンプルとした場合に顕著であり、初期の1ナノ秒以内においては厚さ10ナノメートル以下、面粗さ数ナノメートル以下の極めて精度の高い薄膜が形成されることが判明した。薄膜構造は1マイクロ秒程度まで維持され、高さは100ミクロン以上にも達する。本現象は、レーザーの局所的な照射強度と物質の種類に強く依存している事も示唆されている。更に、本研究で得られた実験結果を分子動力学(MD)シミュレーションのベンチマークとすることで、100ピコ秒以内の初期過程を計算機上で再現することに成功した。今後、実験結果と計算結果を詳細に比較することにより、フェムト秒レーザーアブレーション機構の解明と制御を行う予定である。
