Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The researcher had 2 goals for 2015 research works. First was publishing the results of previous 2 years in academic publications and on a website for public use. The outcome of analyzing urbanization process and how cities grow in space and time was published as an academic paper. The second goal was developing a database of urban planning systems, laws, and regulations of study areas. A website site was created and systematic publishing of data about urban planning systems in study areas is in progress.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
In the original research plan researcher planned to compare the urban expansion against the urban planning system and historic economic development in order to understand the connection between urban planning process and urban sprawl. Developing a comprehensive database of urban planning systems practiced in study areas for the study was time-consuming and involved translating from several languages. That process was time-consuming and few more months worth of works remain to be completed, before taking up the analysis.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
During the remaining funding period, the researcher is planning to complete the database of urban planning systems practiced in study areas and analyze that information with urbanization data to understand the connection. At the same time researcher is planning to publish an academic paper and presenting this research at an international conference.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Researcher manages to complete the majority of the analysis work much more efficiently than previously expected by employing new techniques and using existing software. At the same time, resacher managed to collect all information more efficiently and managed to save remaining amount.
|
Expenditure Plan for Carryover Budget |
The remaining money will be used to present the current work in an international conference and to develop the urban planning system database.
|
Remarks |
This site is specially developed to publish information, data and as a collection of information sources important for this research. And expected to be important for researchers in the same field.
