Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The cancer research using our systems biology approach has been successfully. We validated our model predictions where we identified PKC-delta as a key co-target to optimise TRAIL-stimulated cancer apoptosis. Our results has been published:
Hayashi K, Tabata S, Piras V, Tomita M & Selvarajoo K,‘Systems Biology Strategy Reveals PKC-delta is Key for Sensitizing TRAIL-Resistant Human Fibrosarcoma’(2015) Front. Immunol.; 5:659.
and appeared in Yamagata Shimbun on 14 Jan 2015 Shonai Nippo and 15 Jan 2015.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.
Reason
We have been successful with our goals.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Planning to perform more modeling work and some other experiments on different cancer cells with TNF
|
Causes of Carryover |
The same difference is due to less usage considering tight budget.
|
Expenditure Plan for Carryover Budget |
More simulations and experiments can be done. Furthermore, some part of the money is used to invited two world renowned scientist for the 2nd Symposium on Complex Biodynamics and Networks, which I am chairing.
|
Remarks |
This is the website of an international conference which I chaired, and some part of the grant money has used to invited 2 keynote speakers (Leroy Hood and Shizuo Akira).
