Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Plants have evolved molecular mechanisms to adapt themselves to environmental changes using various strategies. Recent investigations revealed cellular mechanisms, particularly at the endoplasmic reticulum, in response to environmental stresses including high temperature and high salinity. In our research project, we found that heterotrimetic G proteins and lipid synthesis enzyme played crucial roles for endoplasmic reticulum stress tolerance in a model higher plant Arabidopsis thaliana. These findings were published as three original research articles in international scientific journals.
