Outline of Final Research Achievements

We tried to develop biosensor enzymes useful for the specific quantification of physiologically active amines such as GABA, tyramine, histamine, by elucidating the substrate recognition mechanism of two bacterial copper-containing amine oxidases possessing broad substrate specificity.
Unfortunately we could not develop a promising enzyme as a biosensor, but in silico analysis shows a high correlation with biochemical results and it is at a stage where it can be fully utilized for the molecular design of amine oxidase.
