Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Plasmalogens (Pls) are glycerophospholipids owning antioxidative effect, so it is conceivable that Pls may prevent arteriosclerosis and Alzheimer's disease. In our study, chemical synthesis method for choline Pls (PlsCho) has been improved; chemical synthesis method for ethanolamine Pls (PlsEtn) has been established. Comprehensively qualitative and quantitative analyses of Pls in human serum have been carried out by LC-MS/MS using the synthetic Pls standards. The concentration ofPlsEtn18:0/20:4shows higher than that of PlsCho18:0/20:4 in human serum. Some mouses were immunized with BSA-plasmalogens obtained from chemical synthesis.
