Outline of Final Research Achievements

We examined whether positive airway pressure improves right heart function, pulmonary function, and exercise capacity, and reduces mortality rates of heart failure patients with sleep apnea syndrome.
Our data suggest that appropriate sleep apnea syndrome management using positive airway pressure improves right heart and pulmonary function and exercise capacity and consequently may reduce cardiac and all-cause mortality in heart failure patients with sleep apnea syndrome.
