Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study was conducted to establish less invasive and more precise delivery methods in image-guided frameless stereotactic irradiation utilizing general linac platforms equipped with image-guidance for intracranial vascular malformations. To ensure accurate target delineation, the optimal method for integration of 3D rotational angiogram into planning images was examined and established via resconstructed cone-beam CT dataset inclusing phantom-based examinations. The implementation method for 6D adjustable image-guidance systems was also optimized via intra-fractional verification and correction. Clinical application was conducted via two different platforms, and the immobilization stability was suitable in both systems. Inverse planning with Monte Carlo engine for dose calculation was also useful for generating further optimal dose distribution and more reliable dose calculation.
