Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A thrombus and arteriosclerosis are the severe clinical condition of the life. We analyzed urinary stones in detail, and confirmed that protein Z which suppresses blood clotting was included in a high frequency in the urinary stone and examined its role in the formation of urinary calculus. As a result, protein Z was detected in urinary stones that was composed of calcium oxalate monohydrate and it was found that protein Z made crystal of calcium oxalate monohydrate increase on the lipid membrane. Protein Z is expected to suppress blood clotting, but it is considered that protein Z has different role on generation of urinary calculus.
