Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Concomitant administration of chlorpromazine and adrenaline caused decreases in blood pressure. Vasoconstrictor dexmedetomidine (DEX) has a possibility for local anesthetics adjunct alternative as adrenaline. We measured circulatory dynamics of chlorpromazine rat after DEX injection.Blood pressure, end-diastolic volume, and end-systolic pressure increased. Stroke volume, stroke work, and pulse rate decreased. End-systolic elastance was no change. These results suggest that vasoconstriction effect of DEX increased preload and afterload. And DEX does not affect to cardiac function. DEX has possibility to become safe anesthetic adjuncts for patients taking chlorpromazine.
