| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The VP education system was composed by commercial software (Adobe® Captivate®, USA) and authoring program (Adobe® Connect®, USA). Scenario of VP was prepared by case-based learning style using linear interactive model which was constituted by medical history, physical examination, diagnostic tests, diagnosis, and management based on real-life orofacial pain patient records with the consideration of the privacy.The time spent by an educator for preparing template of a VP was 1month. After the first case has been completed, to increase new cases were found not time consuming for the educator. Amount of money spent on development costs of the minimum system (including software and authoring program usage fee) was approximately US$ 3,500 for one year except for the personnel expenses of educators and hard wares. Learners could access easily by their personal computers, tablets, or smartphone to see virtual patients.
