Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We previously reported that FGF21 and FGF19, anti-obese, anti-diabetes hormones, are novel target genes of transcription factor ATF4. In this study, we performed a screening study using cell line to identify functional food factors which activate ATF4. We found one food-derived molecule activates ATF4, and induces expression of FGF21 and FGF19 genes. Moreover, we attempted to identify novel target genes of ATF4 using microarray analysis.
