Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In our project, we evaluated Diro Kitao as one of the greatest predecessor of mathematical meteorology in Japan and placed him justly in scientific history for the first time. We also demonstrated again that the building that is shown to the public as De Larande House at Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectual Museum is actually Diro Kitao Residence, considering the interior design of the residence. Furthermore, we pointed out the possibility that Diro Kitao is one of the candidate models of Toyotaro Ota, the main character of "Maihime" written by Ogai Mori. A study of the historical significance of the "Origin and History of the Prussian Constitution" was done as well. Finally, the firstprint of Diro Kitao's manuscripts of his German novel "Waldnymphe"II-3 was completed.
