回折限界を打破する偏光ホログラムメモリシステムの研究開発

Research Abstract

当年度はリード・ライトが可能な偏光ホログラムストレージシステムの開発に向けて、 MEMS(テキサス・インスツルメンツ社製)とレーザを併用するインターリブ方式を用いるホログラムメモリ・アドレッシング機構の改良研究を行なってきた。また、外部のライターを用いずに、ホログラムメモリの書き込みまで一体化したホログラムストレージシステムの研究を遂行した。当年度は、まだ偏光検出用のセンサが開発できていないので、通常のイメージセンサーと偏光板等とを併用して評価を進めている。レーザ強度のばらつき、MEMSミラー角度の誤差、ホログラムメモリ特性のばらつき、光学系の組み立て精度の問題等、キャリブレーションにより補正する技術も合わせて研究している。このキャリブレーションを用いると、ホログラムメモリへの書き込み時に、偏光検出フォトダイオードアレイのばらつきも含め、全てのばらつきに対して補正をかけることができる。この補正により、ホログラムメモリデバイスの読み出しエラーを低減することができる。
また、当年度は偏光方向検出フォトダイオード評価チップの設計を行った。偏光角度の検出には垂直、水平検出の2つのフォトダイオードをセットで用いる。これらのセルはカスタム設計によりレイアウトした。そして、後段には偏光角検出回路が実装され、その回路において、2つのフォトダイオードの反応時間差やトータルの光強度をデジタル的に検出する。25年度は設計までとして、26年度以降に試作を予定している。
