Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Functional proteins were immobilized to silk fiber using a silk-binding peptide YN42 in transgenic silkworms. The immobilized proteins were stable on washing. The immobilized proteins were localized on the surface of silk fiber, suggesting highly reactive. The immobilized enzymes were active and durable. These results suggested the enzyme-immobilized silk fibers could be used for immobilized enzymes in industry.
