Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Various amino acids, such as tyrosine, leucine, methionine, tryptophan, asparagine, aspartic acid, alanine, arginine, isoleucine, glycine, glutamine, cysteine, serine, histidine, proline, lysine, valine, threonine and phenylalanine, induce altered expression of endothelin 1 in RAW cells after LPS administration. Cysteine (40 mM) suppressed endothelin 1 expression and the induction of iNOS in RAW cells. Administration of several amino acids induced significant alterations in intracellular calcium concentrations. These results suggest that amino acids are related to calcium concentrations both inside and outside the cell.
