Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In order to develop the new therapeutic strategy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) stem cell, we tried to establish artificial cancer stem cell line. As cancer stem cell related molecule, we focused on large non-coding RNA HOTAIR. Lung cancer cells (A549) showed increased cellular migration in HOTAIR dependent munner. In addition, the expression of HOTAIR was found especially in aggressive NSCLC and was significantly correlated with shorter disease free survival, suggesting that HOTAIR might be involved in the property of cancer stem cell of NSCLC.
