Outline of Final Research Achievements

We examined whether frail elderly people with a few teeth, no use denture, and swallowing dysfunction improved swallowing function by wearing denture in videofluoroscopic analysis.
Of patients with swallowing problem in oral stage, a patient who had had a problem in moving bolus to pharynx disappeared laryngeal penetration after denture treatment. In quantitative evaluation, wearing denture immediately decreased oral transit time. In case of swallowing problem in oral stage, especially that is difficult to move bolus, wearing denture may lead to improve swallowing function.
