Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The difference of therapeutic effect of the both group (activated charcoal vs. metronidazole) was not statistically significant (P=0.241, Fisher's exact test). Results from multiple logistic regression analysis showed there were no significant independent prognostic factors for the effect of treatment (p>0.05). Bacteroides species which has long been acknowledged as a predominant species of BV, was not identified at all.. The absence of Lactobacillus species was observed in the 26 % of the subjects. In the additional survey for healthy volunteers showed that 96% of the subjects were without Bacteroides species in the vagina.
