Outline of Final Research Achievements

We discovered whispering gallery mode photoluminescence (WGM PL) from microspheres of self-assembled conjugated polymers. In the microspheres, PL is confined and resonated, resulting in periodic and sharp PL lines. Using these fluorescent microresonators, we further investigated long range light energy transfer and wavelength conversion, white color WGM PL, and laser oscillation. In addition, we achieved colloidal crystals from ferroelectric polymer nano spheres.
