Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study investigated the effects of cold diuresis on endurance exercise performance. Cold-induced diuresis occurred by lowered skin temperature due to cold exposure and decreased plasma volume. Plasma lactate concentration before and during exercise increased and lactate threshold declined. As a result, exercise duration reduced in lowered skin temperature compared with normothermia. Therefore we conclude that when we do endurance exercise in cold environment, we should take countermeasures to maintain a steady level of skin temperature.
